The @thebrintonmuseum is one of my all time favorite museums and I am honored that my painting, "The Old Ranch House", painted onsite in 2023, was added to the Brinton's permanent collection later that year. (Please visit my website for the complete list of permanent collections where you can find my work).

A new exhibition at the museum opens tomorrow, "Her View: Women Artists in the Collection". I am thrilled to be included in this exhibition highlighting the creativity and influence of women across generations and artistic styles.

Artwork will be on view through December 22.

I've been thinking a lot about "containment" when it comes to composition. People who know me understand that I am a little bit of a perfectionist so I'm always looking at what final little "tweaks" a painting might need to improve it. Sometimes a few inches off sides can make a big impact, bringing viewer deeper into the artwork and connecting on a more intimate level. First image is a revised image, more "contained", second photo is the original painting....not a huge difference but a subtle compositional adjustment that I feel draws the viewer deeper into the scene. It's all purely subjective and personal preference. What do you think?
